Nominations (this is the same for all positions) –
Declarations –
Nomination and 2nd from the floor
Any other Nominations –
If Nomination and 2nd from the floor ask if they accept the nomination
Ask for Any other Nominations 3 times with no response
Close Nominations
Speeches –
President –
Nominator Speech – 3 minutes
2nd Speech – 2 minutes
Acceptance Speech – 5 minutes
After all candidates for President have given their speeches, allow time for questions and answers to the candidates from the voting members.
Max 3 questions per candidate or 5 minutes
Vice Presidents/State Delegate/Secretary/Treasurer –
Nominator Speech – 3 minutes
2nd Speech – 2 minutes
Acceptance Speech – 5 minutes
Directors –
Nominator Speech – 2 minutes
Acceptance Speech – 3 minutes
Voting –
White Ballot –
If only one person is running for an office.
Motion and second for White Ballot.
Verbal Vote – all must respond in favor of white ballot, if one person votes against the white ballot, a paper vote must be taken.
Paper Vote –
If there is a contested race for an office.
Must use Paper Vote
Must receive 50% + 1 votes of those present and eligible to vote to win election
If no one wins continue voting until someone has 50% +1
If more than 2 people running, the lowest vote count is dropped for each consecutive vote until only 2 candidates remain
Vacancies –
Vacant positions will be appointed by the incoming President with approval of his/her Elected Board of Directors.
