  • General Business and Reports
  • State delegate confirmation.
    • Motion to confirm L. Gherity as state delegate by D. Kothenbeutel, 2nd by M. Duffy.  Motion carries.
  • Management
    • Incentives Policy Update /Recommendation
      • Incentives:  10 points = $1.  They increased a lot of values in the chart.  Meetings used to be 5 points and bumped to 20 points so people would show up.  Increased the points to contributing to a publication & added a published interview/article to an external source (print & broadcast media) for 25 points.  They added more points for attending conventions & being a state/national competitor. They added a line to leading a chapter lifeline (resurrecting an almost dead chapter).
      • Incentives:  The downside of them increasing point values is that we will get to the cap faster & the cap won’t be increased.
      • Policy:  Nothing really changed.
      • Recommendation:  Motion made by D. Kothenbeutel to give a positive recommendation to present to the general membership, 2nd by M. Duffy.  Motion carries.
  • Membership:
    • 1st quarter membership renewals
      • 100% accounted for!  They are now starting on 2nd quarter.  S. Corder helped make it happen by prodding the membership committee to do their work quickly.  2 new members were processed as well.
      • 5 members were dropped (one of them was an alumni who aged out) and 2 members were gained.  106 current members.
    • Pool Party
      • Nothing yet on the pool party.  They need to do more work.
  • Community:
    • Shakopee high school baseball booster club
      • Mail was sent to community from the booster club, but there was no date on it.  The St. Paul Saints might be a part of it too.
    • Esparanza ministry
      • They’ve been in talks with her.  Somebody will be showing up next week at the GM meeting.
    • Shakopee senior grad party
      • Somebody will be showing up next week at the GM meeting.  There needs to be a joint effort with Membership to help with this.
    • Highway clean up – May 23rd
      • It was originally going to be May 30th, but there is a wedding on that date.
    • Hospital donation
      • $10,000 coming from Fest account to pay for this donation.
      • Long-term suggestion came from GM meeting last month.  There would need to be a lot of communication between teams to be able to make this happen.  We could do this, but what would happen if something big changes with us over the course of the year and we couldn’t commit to this?  We would be locked into a contract and it would be hard and bad to break it.
      • We had no resolution and need to bring it up to the general membership next week.
    • Jeans and Gems
      • April 17th for a silent auction.
      • Do we have items to contribute to the silent auction?  We could donate a membership and some swag, or both… do a bundle.  We can also reach out to somebody else to see what they can do; each individual person can contribute something (M. Duffy Colorstreet, J. Harris Games by James, etc.).
  • Individual Development:
    • No ID VP, so nothing here.
  • Public Relations:
    • Chamber directory
      • Do we want to put an ad in the chamber directory?  They are hounding us to make a decision. There is a line-item for this under PR… $2,000 in the account currently.  We can do the logo, box, and 50 word bio for about $200.
  • State Delegate
    • Early bird registration for spring convention is due tomorrow.  27 people (18 active members & 9 alumni), between Shakopee and Glencoe currently registered.
    • They are submitting 4 projects to state.  The chapter plus 7 individuals will be put in for awards.

9: Presidential Comments

She had a great talk with State President Gwen.  We have been doing a lot in 1 month and 13 days… we got 500 points so far because our 1st quarter members have paid their dues.

10: Adjournment

o Motion to adjourn at 8:54 pm by Kramer.  2nd by Arnold. Motion carries.

11: Creed

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; and

That service to humanity is the best work of life.
