  1. General Business and Reports
  • Management:
    • Fest Update
      • Shadow is still trying to figure out the legalities & who we are going to go through for background checks.
      • We are 40 people short from 2019 numbers.
    • Trail Update
      • Postmate will be put up soon… probably this weekend.
    • Tasty Update
      • The Shakopee JCI website was updated with information about the event.
      • We are still looking for volunteers.
    • Scott County Update
      • They are missing some shifts… 53 in total.
      • We need to promote more.
    • BOD Retreat Talky Stuff
      • Don’t get to the cabin before 4pm.
      • Bring clothes that you don’t care about getting stained.
      • This will be at Camp Confidence.  Bring bedding, pillows, etc; nothing will be provided there.
      • Make sure to bring the check for the donation & the money for the wish list shopping trip.
    • Elections coming up in September think of what the future holds for you
      • Remember not to make declarations until the nominations committee says it can be done; there is nobody on the nominations committee yet.
    • Re-Evaluation of Board Expectation
      • We went into this year and had high expectations.  There have been significantly less members in the chapter participating in events this year.
      • Be patient with yourselves.  There is only so much that people can do… we’re not machines.
      • Just because events have been run every year, it doesn’t mean that we have to do those same events this year.
      • There needs to be interest from other people… we need to set up ourselves for success.
      • Once we have more things going on, the membership should get more energized.
  • Membership:
    • Q3 Member Renewals Underway
      • All of the Q3 people have been emailed, but responses need to be sent back.
  • Community:
    • Rhythm on the Rails – Wednesday, July 14
      • Carla, at Parks and Rec, is looking for some volunteers.
      • If you’re interested, reach out to the Community VP.
    • Summer Carnival Games – Friday, August 6
      • (see above for Rhythm on the Rails).
  • Individual Development:
    • Competitions Training Lab Night
      • Confirming with M. Cole-Harris about getting Paige lined up for this; Cole is coming… running?
      • Don’t know if this is going to be in-person, Zoom, or hybrid.
  • Public Relations:
    • They have an update for the GM meeting.
  • State Delegate
    • Registrations for MidAmerica Due July 17th.
      • Do this ASAP.

9: Presidential Comments

Please, if you need to talk out about something, do so.  We are all supported and loved.  The Jaycees are all about having fun.  Get out of your comfort zone.

10: Adjournment @ 7:59pm – 1st by M Cole-Harris; 2nd by K. Boler; Motion carries.

11: Creed

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; and

That service to humanity is the best work of life.
