  1. General Business and Reports
  • Management:
    • Fest Update with Rob Benjamin
      • Not much new from last month.
      • Fest has gotten a really, really late start.  Fest is happening in a month, but no response.
      • If you need camping, send (to R. Benjamin) who is going to do it & who is going to be in a tent (we need to know who needs passes — send that information to J. Cole-Harris).
      • Still need to do background checks.  Don’t know what’s happening with that yet.
      • TIPS training.  If you need to do it, get it done.  You need to be TIPS trained to work & you don’t work until you get it done.
      • You need to pay your dues or else you don’t work until you’re paid.
    • Tasty Update with Anne Weidenhamer and Mathew Arnold
      • Still taking vendors.  We have a vendor who won’t officially open shop until after Taste (August 14th).
      • We still need security, set-up/tear-down, etc.  We need volunteers!!!
      • The event is up & the link is there.  Sign-up!!
    • Scott County Fair with Sierra
      • It is July 28th through the 31st.
      • We still need volunteers.  Sign-up on the webpage or sierrajcishakopee@gmail.com.
      • We are looking for parking passes.
    • Looking for a Chair for Trail of Terror
      • We still need a Chair (you have to coordinate and staff the trailers, make sure they are getting breaks and water, and more).
      • We ran the trailers in the past.  You don’t have to have your own costume or makeup… they will do it all for you.
  • Membership:
    • Please pay your dues if you have not P.O. Box 133 Shakopee, MN 55379
      • You need to be a member of good standing (aka pay your dues) or you can’t work Fest.
    • Game Night – July 26th
      • It is going to be a D&D type game.  It’s called Goat Crashers… you try to crash a party as a goat.
    • Vali-HI Social – August, 6th
      • This is the drive-in movie theater.
      • 4 people confirmed for showing up.  Meeting at 5pm at the local WalMart.
      • It is going to be family – and friends – friendly.  We don’t have the choice of movies though.  Once we know what the movies they are playing, we will post that on the event page.
      • Bring some radios so you can listen out loud.
    • DISCORD IS LIVE! /And there was much rejoicing *unenthusiastic “yay”*/
      • https://discord.gg/sYQqt45JxA
      • Training to be held Tuesday July 20th at 7pm
      • We are finding that we are having difficulties communicating with members.  FB events and emails have been missed, so maybe Discord will work (JCI Shakopee is our server on Discord).
        • There are numerous channels for different things.  You can customize your notifications for the different channels.
      • This will hopefully breathe new life into our chapter.

      • This is going to be virtual & open to the entire state.
  • Public Relations:
    • Pickled Pig Advertisement Board
      • It’s in Jordan.  We are setting up a 30’x40’ LED sign.  We can put a full-color ad up.

      • Want to do the order in the next 2 weeks.
  • State Delegate:
    • [Nothing for this month]

8: Presidential Comments

There is a giveaway today.  Come grab shirts if they’re your size.  No shirts were shown on camera, so I have no idea what they are.

Come to the next meeting for a giveaway.

9: Adjournment @ 8:41pm – 1st by J. Cole-Harris; 2nd by M. Cole-Harris; Motion carries

11: Creed

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; and

That service to humanity is the best work of life.
