  2. Special Guests:
  • Mark Zoellner – Interim Principal of Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran Church 
    • He thanked us for helping out their school in the past (AED, food, scoreboard, etc.).
    • He is asking for an AED for a 200-250 student preschool-8th grade school.  The one they have is very old.  He wants it to have both adult and pediatric pads.
      • The lifespan for an AED is about 16-18 years… it all depends on the model.
      • All of the teachers are CPR/AED trained.
      • They haven’t asked anybody else yet.  They asked us first because we have helped them numerous times in the past.
  • Stephanie Corder and Mathew Arnold
    •  They have been nominated by JCI MN to attend NAA in July.  It is 4 days of leadership training through the North American Academy.
    • Registration fee is $225 each (registration, lunches, and 1 dinner are included in the registration fee) & flights are about $200 each.

  1. General Business and Reports
  • Management:
    • Summer Jam Update
      • We have been asked to provide 6 drivers per day of the event.  The driving shifts are 8am-11pm.  Lunch and dinner are provided as well as a pair of concert tickets during the days you’re not working.
      • We need 1 driver for Thursday, 1 driver for Friday, and 2 drivers for Saturday.
    • Scott County Update
      • July 28-31.  There are all sorts of 3-hour shifts available.
      • Everything is moving smoothly so far.
    • Big Tasty Update
      • We need security people.  We have everybody else.
      • Flyers will be created.
    • Fest Update
      • Camping — still looking for 15 spots.  Applications are online through their website, but you need to get through Shadow to apply because we don’t know how many spots we have available.
      • Background Check — EVERYBODY has to do this before they do it.
        • Cost for a background check is $13.00.  The expectation is for you to pay it for yourself, but you can get help if needed.
      • Harassment Training — EVERYBODY is required to do this as well.
      • Registration for Fest will be available starting Sunday.
      • Events — Jesters BBQ is a go & Foaming is a go.
      • Masks — up to the Pubmasters right now.  Everybody in the count room will be wearing masks.
      • Recovery — Looking for a Chairperson.  If interested, let Shadow know.
      • Pubmasters — We need 1 FT for Knights.  We need 1 PT for Macs.
    • Trail of Terror Update
      • Looking for a Chairperson.  If interested, contact the Management team.
    • September GM/Elections Date Change Proposal
      • We need to push it back a week because it falls on the week of the National Convention.
        • Motion made by M. Arnold to push the September GM meeting to September 23rd; 2nd by Weidenhamer.  Motion carries.
  • Membership:
    • June Game Night – June 21st
      • This month is Family Friendly… they are playing UNO (1st and 2nd place each get a set of UNO cards) and doing a Scavenger Hunt (gift card for winner)
    • Drive-In Social – August 6th
      • They’re asking $100 for a drive-in social movie (MB-20); money is for food and beverages.  They typically do 2-3 movies per night.  They also are asking for a good radio setup & people to cook.
      • This will be at the Valley High Drive-In
        • Motion made by S. Corder to pay up to $100 from MB-20 for the social; 2nd by Gherity.  Motion carries.
    • Alumni/Associate Renewals
      • Come talk to the President to see how much you owe for Dues.  Otherwise, emails will be sent next week saying what you owe.
    • Discord App:
      • There will be an app for the chapter.  There is a channel for each kind of discussion.
  • Community:
    • Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran School AED Donation
      • We have a line-item (CD-22 — $2,000) for combating diseases.  CD-4 ($500)  is for the essay contest.
        • Motion made by A. Beecher to donate $1,624, with the addition of cost for a plaque, from CD-22; 2nd by D. Kothenbeutel.  Motion carries.
    • Pitch, Hit, and Run
      • It’s on one week from this Saturday at 1pm.
      • There are currently only 2 people serving it.  Please come serve!
  • Individual Development:
    • July Lab Night: Improv/Public Speaking
      • Cameron will do this… either improv or public speaking.
    • North American Academy
      • There is a line-item for National/International Conferences (SD-12 or SD-17) where money could be pulled from.
        • Motion made by G. Labovich to pay up to $500 per travel for registration and travel expenses to the North American Academy, reimbursable by receipts; 2nd by Gherity.  Motion carries.
  • Public Relations:
    • [nothing this month]
  • State Delegate
    • Fall All State Registration Deadline: June 30th
      • There was a link sent via email.
      • The chapter will cover the early-bird registration if you physically attend and go to at least 2 meetings.
    • JCI USA Celebration of a Century Registration Deadline: July 1st
      • It’s in St. Louis, MS & is happening during Fest (Sept 16-19).
    • Mid America Registration Deadline: July 17th
      • It’s in Cleveland, OH.

9: Presidential Comments

We’re almost halfway through the year… Holy Smokes!!

We need some more members.

Please bring your friends to our meetings.  We have another picnic meeting next month.
