Assistance Requests:

  1. General Business and Reports
  • Management:
    • Elections meeting reminder
      • At the general meeting next week we have an elections meeting.  Make sure you have your 1st and 2nds email to Linda Bitner.  Your nominators need to have a 3 minute speech prepared and present them to the membership.
      • The meeting is also a potluck.  Bring stuff.
  • Membership:
    • Zoom Social – September 21st
      • Since our Zoom game night social has been good we are doing another one.
    • 3rd Quarter renewals update
      • They are finishing 3rd quarter renewals.  They should have those done “real quick” (aka. the general membership meeting next Thursday).
  • Community:
    • Adopt a Park reminder
      • It will be on September 20th at 10am in Huber Park.
    • Adopt a Highway reminder
      • It will be on September 27th at 10am.
    • Kindness Rally
      • It will be on September 26th at 12:09pm.
      • She made sure that the invitation to Shakopee has been sent out ( and she made a page where everybody can sign up.  She will make sure that people attend.
  • Individual Development:
    • [Nothing for this month]
  • Public Relations:
    • She emailed the people in charge about hoodies and sweatshirts and is getting ready for the BOD to purchase as small swag.
  • State Delegate
    • United Legacy request
      • The request was made earlier.  They were asked directly how they were going to use the money.  Our main concern is that we have already given them a lot and we probably shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket and could help other communities instead.
      • Between us and Lake Elmo they already have received over $9,000.00.
      • They want more money from us or for us to purchase the items directly and send it to them.
      • They haven’t given us what we asked for (specific paperwork saying their plan for the money) & our last donation wasn’t spent on what they said they were going to spend it on, so why are we throwing money at their problems if they’re not going to fix them?
      • They were originally supposed to help recruit for us and grow their business, but that hasn’t happened.
      • D. Kothenbeutel is suggesting that we bring it to our general membership with no recommendation.  We haven’t received a plan of action that we asked for.
      • M. Arnold & J. Harris said that we shouldn’t give them any more money because they aren’t spending it responsibly.
      • We voted to talk to the general membership about this next week and not give them a recommendation, but each individual board member has the opportunity to speak up and tell the membership what we think.
    • Rochester Jaycees request
      • They were wondering if we can sponsor a couple of new members for their chapter.  Their dues are about $100/year.  They have received help from a couple of other chapters as well.
      • Motion to make a positive recommendation at the GM to sponsor 2 new members.  Motion made by Arnold; 2nd by Kothenbeutel.  Motion carries.

9: Presidential Comments

    Please come to the convention in the office on Saturday.  There isn’t a presidential election, so Corder and Gherity will be credentialed.  Thanks.

10: Adjournment @ 8:00pm.  – 1st by Arnold; 2nd by Kostelecky; Motion carries.

11: Creed

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; and

That service to humanity is the best work of life.
