      • Saturday, October 24th.  They have a lot of events that people can sign up for.  We will have a free table there to pass out candy & we need people to man that table.
      • We can do a community sponsorship as well.  C Kostelecky made a motion to have us donate at the Gold level.  M Duffy 2nd.  Motion carries.
    • Adopt a Highway reminder
      • Next Sunday the 27th at 10am.  Starting location is at Holiday off highway 169 in Shakopee.  There will be food afterwards.
    • Kindness Rally
      • It is happening on September 26th from noon-4pm.  Sign up for free online or in person.  You get a kit for $25, but the chapter will provide that.
    • United Legacy request
      • They were requesting some emergency funds for vehicle registration and other things.  We requested at our last GM meeting for more information… paperwork on what they are going to spend the money on.  They gave us paperwork on what they spent it for last year, but not what they want for this year.  They sent us receipts for the stuff that they bought though.
      • They have only been asking us for money and not JCI Minnesota as a whole.
      • They didn’t correctly spend the money that we gave them earlier.  They don’t have a budget on where they want to spend things.
      • J Harris said that since they didn’t think about needing to register a vehicle after they bought it, and since they didn’t give us the information that we asked for we shouldn’t give them any money.
      • L Case said that because we have no money coming in this year {Ways and Means projects have been cancelled due to the pandemic} we should tell them no to giving them money, but work with them to create a budget to help with future endeavors.
      • A comment was made that they should be talking to the state, since it’s a state project, instead of talking directly to us.
      • Motion made by D Kothenbeutel to bring it back to the board of directors for them to give us more information… budget, exact expenditures, etc. 2nd by L Case.  Motion carried.
    • JCI Louisiana request
      • A request is coming.  They are asking for chapters and their state for support for hurricane relief… 3 hurricanes so far this summer.  The chapter there has been hit a lot.  They are requesting relief… finances and items {Gatorade, brooms, mops, etc.}.
  • Individual Development:
    • [Nothing this month]
  • Public Relations:
    • We got our Shakopee Chamber of Commerce ad and they screwed it up.  It states the old president, an old website, and not what we told them to say; they at least got our logo correct and our correct website at the end of it.
  • State Delegate
    • Fall Convention Awards
      • People received awards, as well as our chapter, in person today.

9: Presidential Comments

    The election meeting will start at 8:00pm on the dot.  Please stay for that and sign in for that as well.

10: Adjournment @ 7:51pm  – 1st by Beecher, 2nd by Cortez.  Motion carried.

11: Creed

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; and

That service to humanity is the best work of life.
